DS SPONSORED STAFF: British-Consulate General, Shanghai

A small Consulate-General opened in Shanghai in 1985

with a UK based staff of 3 (one DS4, one DS7, one DS9) and

seven locally engaged staff. The British Council have one

UK-based member of staff assigned to the Consulate-General.

Its main function is commercial. It does not issue visas.

Taking into account all factors, including the division of

time of the Head of Mission and weighting the figures

according to the salaries of the officers concerned, we

estimate that the collective effort of the Mission is

divided as follows:
