An Ordinance to amend the Fisheries Protection Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Fisheries Protection (Amend- ment) Ordinance 1987.

The long title to the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "the Colony" and substituting the following-

Amendment of section 2.

Addition of

“Hong Kong”.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) by inserting, before the definition of "Director", the following-

""authorized officer" means any officer appointed under

section 3A;"; and

(b) by deleting the definition of "research officer".

The principal Ordinance is amended by adding, after section 3, the new section 3A. following-

"Authorized officers.

3A. (1) The Director may appoint in writing any officer of the Agriculture and Fisheries Department to be an authorized officer for the purposes of such provision of this Ordinance as the Director specifies.

(2) An authorized officer when exercising a power under this Ordinance shall produce his written appointment under subsection (1) for inspection by any person who reasonably requires to see it.".
