Polytex Home For The Aged

(21

Upon receipt of a resumption notice from your District Lands office, Yuen Long dated 5 September 1986 in respect of the N.T.C.R. Improvements Phase III, we (Polytex Garment Manufacturing Co. Ltd.), being the registered owner of the

captioned land, hereby respectfully submit our objection to your proposed Plan

and Scheme under which a portion of our land would be resumed to the Crown 고

probably for works area.

We have operated an old aged home on the said land since early 1982

under the name of POLYTEX HOME FOR THE AGED (112). It provides intensive nursing care for the old aged and the disabled, especially for those suffered from hemiplegia. We are confident to say that it is the first institution in Hong Kong running by a private entity.

Having studied thoroughly your project, we understand that, to our concern, the area of our land to be resumed would include :

(i) the access provided for cars to the Home with handrail

on one side ;

(ii)

the main but also the only entrance of the Home with iron gate/inter-com; and

(iii) the major area of our garden.

As such, the daily routine running of our Home will be greatly affected and cause many expected disadvantages to our 'residents'. Thus we are bound to raise our objection to your proposal due to the facts listed below :

For (i) & (ii)

FORMAL ACEA SENT

1 2 SEP 1986

we must have a 24-hours access provided for cars (especially for ambulance on emergency) to carry the disabled residents in and out of the Home for regular medical treatment,
