Secretary for Transport,

Transport Branch.

Dear Sir,

I, NG Chun-lam, and my grandson, NG Pui-tong, are indigenous inhabitant, of Pok Wai in Yuen Long, New Territories. I have a plot of land at Lot No. 3751C of D.D. 104 while my grandson's land is at Lot No. 3481 of D.D. 104. We received a letter from the Government saying that our land will have to be resumed. The land under my name consists

of 2 fens of 435 sq.ft. each. Previously when the Government built a

road here, they resumed 1 fen of my land. What remains now is 1 fen, i.e. 435 sq.ft. Now when Mr Chan came to resume my land, he said I have

only some 200 sq.ft., which is half of what I actually have. This is

most unfair. Please measure clearly. When I went to the Land Office

to check, I found that the records say I have 1 fen of land, that is, 435 sq.ft. Please do not short-measure my land. If you insist that I have only some 200 sq.ft., please do not resume my land. Another thing is that my grandson's land is rectangular in shape, but the Government wants to resume half of it by slicing it diagonally across (see accompanying diagram). If so, the remaining half will be rendered useless. There fore please resume the entire portion of my grandson's land or do not resume it at all to prevent any loss to us.

manner.

I should be grateful if you would handle this case in a just

NG Chun-lam
