(d) Objector No. 4 has requested Government to :
is
(i) resume his entire factory, which
located partly within the Phase 4 4 works boundary of the road project, because of pollution threats during
Phase 3 construction;
(ii) allow him to retain the licenses of the 2 factories and the gold fish rearing ground for relocation elsewhere;
(iii)
(iv)
(v)
compensate him for his loss of income in closing down one of the factories and the gold fish rearing ground in 1981, and the cost of the structures and well;
4
resume his house which would be affected by Phase
works because of pollution threats during Phase 3 construction; and
resume the whole of lot no. 3774E in DD104 as the remainder could not serve any useful purpose.
(e) Objector No. 7: On behalf of the objector, the solicitors point out that the client operates a milk farm on Lot No. 3279 C2RP and owns a well, water tank,
water tank, pump and generators inside the lot which is to be resumed by Government for the roadworks. If the well is cut off, the client will incur the extra costs of using Water Authority supplies.
(f) Objector No. 8 raises a number of compensation issues :
(i)
(ii)
Government should specify clearly the method of compensation for removal of the village houses where the objectors and their families have been residing for many years. Permission should be given for re-building the houses.
Reasonable compensation should be given for the access road, sunning ground, water well, wire mesh fence, "Pai Lau", gate and agricultural crops.
(g) Objector No. 13: On behalf of the objector, the solicitors point out that resumption
that resumption would bring an end
end to
to his client's sawmill. The 15 employees and their dependent families livelihood would also be affected. The objector further suggests that Government should abandon or modify the scheme or resettle the sawmill on a similar site.
