The objector requested Government to (i) resume his entire factory which was located partly on Phase 4 of the road project, (ii) retain the licences of the 2 factories and the goldfish rearing ground for re- location elsewhere, (iii) compensate for his loss of income in closing down one factory and the goldfish rearing ground since 1981, the structures and well, (iv) resume his house which was located in Phase 4 and (v) resume the whole of lot no. 3774E in DD 104.
Items (i) & (iv) are based on pollution threats like dust and noise. Items (iii) & (v) are related to compensation`issues. District Lands Officer/Yuen Long has advised that the request in item (ii) cannot be met as the licenses will be cancelled upon resumption of the lots and it is Government's policy that the licenses need to be re-applied for locations elsewhere and considered on their own merits. In order to tackle the problem on pollution threats, the limit of works area should be modified if possible.
