Sir Y K had mentioned briefly some brouhaha which had taken place with the ODA on the question of the Secretary of the Joint Committee administering Sir Y K Pao's scholarship scheme. Apparently Sir Y K had suggested that his previous representative in London, William Lee, should serve as Secretary without taking a fee. This had not been acceptable to ODA. The matter had apparently been amicably resolved when Sir Y K saw Mr Patten earlier this week.
