The foregoing represents a significant increase on what

has already caused Richard Evans (in his letter of

19 December to the PUS) to express surprise at our ideas.

Before considering the question further at this end, it

would be helpful to have your views. Although 1997 is

far ahead and the proposed establishment will probably

change many more times between now and then, we need to

give OED a firmer steer on our likely accommodation

requirements as soon as we reasonably can.
