Cannabis Resin seized by NB
Case Reference: WF/CCR 681/85
On 29 March 1985, Narcotics Bureau officers seized 800 gms of Cannabis resin when they arrested an American male at Macau ferry wharf. The arrested person had just returned from Macau, where it is believed he purchased the cannabis.
Result: Defendant was fined $2,500 following a guilty plea.
80 gms Cannabis Resin seized by NB
Case Reference: WF/CCR 1571/85
On 30 March 1985, NB officers seized 80 gms of cannabis resin when they searched flat B, 18th Floor, Fu Yuen, 39-49 Wan Chai Road, Hong Kong. A British male was subsequently arrested.
Result: Defendant was fined $1,000-HK.
1.7 kgs Cannabis Resin seized by NB
Case Reference: WF/CCR/699–670/85, XRB|1314–5/85
On 2 April 1985, NB officers seized 1.7 kgs of cannabis resin when they arrested two European females at Macau Wharf following their return from Macau. A search of their premises in Wan Chai Road re- vealed cannabis smoking equipment and a further European female was arrested. The two European females pleaded guilty to Trafficking and were remanded for two weeks for probation officers' reports. Result: Both defendants were sentenced to nine months imprisonment respectively, with one to be
deported after serving her sentence as she was a UK resident.

On 20 April 1985, NB officers scized 2 kgs of cannabis resin when they arrested two Pakistani males and an Indian male in a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel.

Two defendants were sentenced to three and four years imprisonment while the third was acquitted.

On 22 April 1985, Customs officers scized 350 gms of herbal cannabis when they arrested a Chinese male at the Airport on his arrival from Manila.
Result: Defendant was convicted and sentenced to Drug Addiction Treatment Centre.
2 kgs Cannabis Resin seized by NB
Case Reference: AP/CCR/282/85
On 10 May 1985, Narcotics Bureau officers seized 2 kgs of cannabis resin and three small packets of No. 4 heroin when they arrested a 33 years old Indian male at the airport as he was giving instructions to a courier about to depart for Perth, Western Australia. The cannabis resin was concealed in a false bottomed 'Samsonite' briefcase. A subsequent search of the Indian male's address at Chung King Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui revealed one kilogram of antibiotic powder and a small quantity of cannabis.

2 kgs Cannabis seized by Customs
Case Reference: CIB/1/141/85
On 29 May 1985, Customs officers seized 2 kgs of herbal cannabis when they arrested a Chinese male at Man Kam To Control Point. The Chinese male, who arrived from China by coach, had the drugs concealed in a false bottom in his travelling bag. It is believed the drugs originated in the Philippines and brought to China by air and overland to Hong Kong.
Result: Convicted after trail and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.
MX, Cannabis and Cocaine seized by SDS/WCH
On 3 June 1985, SDS I/Wch raided a flat at Tonnochy Tower, Jaffe Road, Wan Chai. A quantity of 883 MX tablets, 40 gms of herbal cannabis, 72 gms of cocaine and 83 other tablets were seized from a cashier and bar girl who work in Wan Chai bars. A Chinese male was subsequently arrested.
