12 kgs No. 3 Heroin seized by Customs Case Reference: CIB/1/175-176/85
On 12 July 1985, officers of the Customs Investigation Bureau searched two heroin packing and distributing centres in Western and scized 12 kgs of No. 3 heroin. Officers first intercepted two Chinese males when they were returning to a flat in Hollywood Road. From the shopping bags they carried, a total of 7 kgs of No. 3 heroin were scized. A search of the flat revealed a further 4 kgs of No. 3 heroin. A subsequent search of a flat in Queen's Road West, revealed a further 1 kg of No. 3 heroin. Result: The defendant was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment while the other was acquitted.
1 kg Heroin seized by Customs
On 13 July 1985, officers of the Customs Investigation Bureau seized 500 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested a Chinese male at Sai Yeung Choi Street in Mong Kok. Shortly afterwards Customs officers intercepted a private car at 52-54 Sai Yeung Choi Street. Two Chinese males were arrested with a further seizure of 500 grams of No. 3 heroin.
Result: Pending.
680 gms Heroin seized by SDS/WTS
Case Reference: WTS/CCR/2652/85
On 17 July, SDS/WTS seized 230 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested two Chinese males onboard a taxi in Wong Tai Sin. A further search of the first arrested person's home located a further 450 grams of No. 3 heroin.
Result:
The defendants absconded whilst on bail.
10 kgs Heroin seized by NB
Case Reference: HMT/CCR/2809/85
As a result of an ongoing investigation into an active heroin distribution syndicate operating in Kowloon arca, NB officers raided an address at Room 38, No. 79 Waterloo Road, 5th Floor, on 12 July 1985. Two Chinese males were arrested and 10 kgs of No. 3 heroin were seized.
Result:
One defendant was sentenced to eight years imprisonment while the other was sentenced to six years.
153 gms Heroin and 375 gms 'Mandrax' seized by KR/SDS/KHQ
Case Reference: Y/CCR/4043/85
On 19 July 1985, officers of KR/SDS/KHQ seized 153 grams of No. 3 heroin and 375 grams of 'Mandrax' when they raided a flat at 5th Floor, 22 Tak Cheong Lane, Yau Ma Tei. A 39 year old Chinese male was arrested.
Result: The defendant was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
1.4 kgs Heroin seized by SDS/WTS
Case Reference: MK/CCR/3545/85
On 20 July, officers of SDS/WTS seized 1.4 kgs of No. 3 heroin when they intercepted one Chinese male on information.
Result: He was sentenced to six years imprisonment following a guilty plea.
140 gms Heroin seized by SDS/SSPO
Case Reference: SSPo/CCR/4540/85
On 4 August 1985, officers of SDS/SSPo seized 140 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested a 27 year old Chinese male in Tai Hang Tung Road.
Result: The defendant was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
900 gms Heroin seized by Customs
Case Reference: CIB 1/223/85
On 12 August 1985, officers of the Customs Investigation Bureau seized 900 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested a Chinese male at junction of Parkes Street and Jordan Road.
Result: Pending.
