500 gms Heroin seized by UB/MK
Case Reference: MK/CCR/1277/85
On 14 February 1985, a UB PC seized 500 gms of No. 3 heroin following a check on an illegally parked vehicle in Sai Yeung Choi Street, Mong Kok. One Chinese male was arrested. Result: The defendant was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
520 gms of Heroin seized by CID/MK
Case Reference: MK/CCR/1335/85
On 16 February 1985, CID/AS/MK arrested one Chinese male in possession of 20 gms of No. 3 heroin, A search of his home at Ground Floor, 59 Tong Mei Road, Mong Kok revealed a further 500 gms of No. 3 heroin.
Result:
Defendant was sentenced to Drug Addiction Treatment Centre.
900 gms Heroin seized by SDS
Case Reference: HMT/CCR/939/85
On 10 March 1985, SDS Kowloon City seized 900 gms of No. 3 heroin when they searched 12 Victory Avenue, 1st Floor. A 20 year old Chinese male was subsequently arrested.
Result: The 20 year old defendant was sentenced to five years imprisonment following a guilty plea.
250 gms Heroin seized by NB
Case Reference: SMP/CCR/21/85
On 12 March 1985, Narcotics Bureau officers seized 250 gms of No. 3 heroin when they arrested a Chinese male at Ma Yau Tong Lower Estate.
Result: The defendant was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
2 kg Heroin seized by WCH/SDS at Packing Centre
On 26 March 1984, acting on information, WCH/SDS officers intercepted a Chinese male in Mong Kok and seized 1kg of No. 3 heroin he was carrying. A subsequent search of his nearby address revealed a further 1kg of No. 3 heroin and packing paraphernalia.
Result: The 21 year old defendant was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment after trial.
520 gms Heroin seized by Customs.
Case Reference: CIB/1/92/85
On 27 March 1985, Customs officers seized 520 grams of No. 3 heroin when they raided a packing centre in Wan Chai. Two Chinese males and two Chinese females were arrested.
Result: One defendant pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six years imprisonment while the other was
sentenced to three years after trial.
500 gms Heroin seized by Customs
Case Reference: CIB/1/96-97/85
On 29 March 1985, Customs officers seized 500 grams of No. 3 heroin when they raided two premises at 57 Maidstone Road, and 26A Ming Lung Street, To Kwa Wan respectively.
Result: Two defendants were convicted after trial and sentenced to six years imprisonment each while
a third was acquitted.
400 gms of Heroin seized by CID/TST
Case Reference: TST/CCR/1564/85
On 10 April 1985, AS/CID/TST seized 400 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested two Chinese males in Mah Yan Restaurant, Kimberly Street.
Result: One defendant was sentenced to four years imprisonment while the other was acquitted.
8 kgs Heroin seized by NB
Case Reference: TST/CCR/2124/85 and MK/CCR/1263–5/85
On 10 April 1985, following a four-month operation, NB and Kowloon Regional officers seized 8 kgs of No. 3 heroin, arrested one Chinese female and two Chinese males when they searched 10 addresses neutralizing a dangerous drugs store and 2 packing centres. The raids commenced following a stop and search of a Chinese female and Chinese male in Pilkem Street, Yau Ma Tei where 500 grams of No. 3
