VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR HONG KONG BRITISH DEPENDENT TERRITORIES CITIZENS
When we spoke a couple of weeks ago on the telephone, I undertook to let you
You have some information on the new British National (Overseas) passport. also asked about the visa regimes of other Western European countries, particular the FRG.

I enclose a copy of a detailed note the FCO in London have sent me about the new passport. It has been drawn up for use in a publicity exercise we expect to mount this autumn and I expect that I shall be instructed to be in touch with the UD again in that context. You may find that some or all of this information is duplicated in the report
But I thought your Consul-General in Hong Kong sends you on the new passport. it right to send it to you anyway, rather than rely on him. Please let me know if there is anything in it all that raises any worries here.
Turning to the visa situation in other European countries, I understand that only Spain and the FRG still require visas for Hong Kong BDTCS entering for short visits. The Spanish authorities have indicated that the question will be examined in the light of immigration regulations, yet to be promulgated,
