concern
The three month period of public consultation proposed in memorandum XCC (85)125 will conclude at the end of January 1986. However, as several District Boards have
had that they have expressed
insufficienc time to study the BRB Report in Chinese, it is intended to extend the period of consultation by one month to
to the end of February 1986. A one month extension will not upset the Government's timetable for the drawing-up and issue of broadcasting licences for the next licensing period.
3
In parallel with the period of public consultation, Unofficial Members of the Legislative Council have formed an Ad Hoc Working Group to consider the Broadcasting Review Board's recommendations with a view to holding an adjournment debate on the subject on Wednesday, 5 February 1986. In view of this and due to the extended period of public consultation, the Administration proposes
put recommendations to the Council for advice in March 1986. Views expressed during the consultation period will form the basis for the assessments of public reaction included in submissions to the Council.
