Please refer to your telegram number 54 to Copenhagen.

I have thanked both the Danish Mission here and Mr F Christiansen, the Head of Division, Directorate of Aliens in Copenhagen, who was here last week for the UNHCR Working Group on Asylum Seekers.

I also spoke to Mr Christiansen about the list of family reunion cases: he thought that the persons on the list did not fulfil the criteria for family reunion cases under the Danish Aliens Law. He added that they could be considered as part of the annual quota if UNHCR decided to present them as part of that quota.

Mr Christiansen told me he would check the foregoing on his return to Copenhagen as he was speaking from memory - and let our Embassy in Copenhagen know. I have given him an extra copy of the list of family reunion cases for Denmark and would be grateful if Copenhagen could follow this up.
