ANNEX B

CRITERIA FOR SELECTING REFUGEES/DISPLACED PERSONS FOR

RESETTLEMENT IN JAPAN

Indochinese refugees must qualify under one of the following

categories:

(1) The spouse, parent or child (including adopted child) of a Japanese national, or a relative of a Japanese national

of an alien who resides lawfully in

Japan, who

recognised as being capable of supporting the refugee.

or

is

(2) A person who comes under any on e of the following

categories and who has а guarantor in Japan or who is expected to take up any employment which is considered to be

sufficient to support himself, as well as: that person's spouse, parent, child, or other accompanying relative.

A person who had once been employed by a Japanese

diplomatic mission or enterprise abroad for a considerable period;

A person who had lawfully resided in Japan for a

considerable period as a student, or trainee,

under another status;

or

(c)

(a)

A person who had once been hired as a personal employee by a Japanese national for a considerable

period;

language,

A person who had studied the Japanese

vocational techniques, judo, etc from Japanese

experts or members of the Japan
