4. Despite domestic budget constraints, the United States should provide its fair share of refugee relief and resettlement support.
Administration Actions:
o For FY 1986, the United States will provide approximately one-third of the UNBRO budget and 25% of the costs of the UNHCR and ICRC programs in Southeast Asia.
o $5.1 million has been reprogrammed to bring the FY 1986 Southeast Asia care and maintenance budget to $18.0 million.
In FY 1987, the U.S. will give priority to life sustaining refugee programs of the major international refugee organizations.
