Medical Services

A 24-hour medical service is provided to both camps by a Medical Officer seconded from the Medical and Health Department who is assisted by correctional services officers qualified in nursing and female nurses from the Medical and Health Department. Together, they operate a small clinic and two sickbays. A volunteer dentist sponsored by the UNHCR visits the Centre once a week.

Education

Education programmes for the refugees are funded by the UNHCR and organised by the Hong Kong International Social Service since September this year. Priority is given to education of children aged 8 to 15. Adults are also encouraged to participate in language training and cultural orientation programmes.
