On behalf of the High Commissioner, I have the honour to invite you to an informal meeting of Permanent Representatives of States members of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner's Programme on Friday, 13 June 1986. The meeting will be held in Conference Room XXI at the Palais des Nations and will begin at 10.00 a.m.

In addition to the customary exchange of views regarding current developments, it is hoped that the meeting will result in a consensus on certain organizational matters. As you may recall, it was agreed at the informal meeting held in January of this year that the June meeting would decide on a formal recommendation on Executive Committee documentation and related matters which will be submitted for adoption to the thirty-seventh session in October. The Report of the Informal Working Group, which has been considering this subject under UNHCR's auspices, has recently been circulated in draft form for comments. On the basis of these comments the final version of the Report will be sent to Members of the Executive Committee towards the end of May so that a final decision may be taken at the meeting on 13 June.

It would be appreciated if the name(s) of the representative(s) designated to attend this Meeting could be communicated to the Secretariat of UNHCR (telephone 31.02.61, extension 2746 and/or 2763) at your earliest convenience.

His Excellency

Mr. John A. Sankey, C.M.G.,

Ambassador

Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom

to the United Nations Office at Geneva
