DECLASSIFICATION OF HONG KONG LOW FLYING CHART
We spoke today on Hong Kong's proposal to "declassify" their "Low Flying Chart". I enclose a copy of a letter from the Hong Kong Political Adviser's Office, dated 19 November.
1.
Hong Kong's proposal to declassify a suitably "sanitised" version of the chart looks sensible to me, given:
2.
and
(a) CRAF/Hong Kong's agreement,
3.
(b) the peculiar difficulties that Hong Kong's few civilian fliers must face in Hong Kong's unique geographical and physical circumstances.
if I can,
I should like therefore to respond helpfully subject to
department's your
views and those of Our Own legal advisers, whom I am consulting separately on
on the boundaries issue.
4.
I have one
of the chart
to if you need
see it. copy
The
reference
(in the no.
top right and bottom left corners) is "Series GSGS5401A; Edition 2-GSGS".
