Request from Mr. YEUNG Chan

Mr. YEUNG Chan said that his house was located within the clearance boundaries but his cultivation located outside the boundaries. He requested if the Government could consider to include his cultivation in the clearance. To avoid hardship caused to the cultivator and his family, Mr. LAM Sin-hoi proposed with the support of Mr. Peter KWAN and Mr. B.H. Coultous agreed in principle to the request.

In reply to Mr. LEE Pit-tat, Mr. B.H, Coultons confirmed that the boundary wall of Mr. LEE's tea-house had been excluded from the clearance.

Villagers'Agreement to withdraw their Objection to the proposed Wɔrks

At the conclusion of the meeting, the villagers expressed that they were generally satisfied with the above explanations about the road and tunnel works and with the Government's carefully planned preparation for the clearance. In reply to the chairman, the villagers pointed out that they would withdraw their objection but the Government should make every effort to satisfy all their requests stated above. The Chairman asked them to confirm their withdrawal of objection in writing. Mr. CHU Yau-ming replied that the villagers were going to hold a general meeting to work out their final view on the matter.

There being no other business, the meeting adjourned at 1 p.m.
