The First Schedule

The work to be undertaken and the duties to be performed under this Agreement shall be :

1

To review and report to the H.K. Government on all aspects of the design operational maintenance and emergency standards and procedures of the Railway to ensure the safety of passengers staff and public at all times.

2.

To advise on such specific matters affecting the design operation and maintenance of the Railway as are referred to the Inspectorate from time to time.

3.

From time to time to make such inspections of

the Railway as are necessary.

4.

At the request of the H.K. Government to investigate fully and expeditiously the circumstances of any accident or incident involving the Railway and to provide a full report to the H.K. Government on the cause or causes of the said accident or incident and to make recommendations.

5.

At the request of the H.K. Government to advise on the Regulations, By-laws and formulation of Safety Procedures in connection with the Railway.

6.

Whenever necessary to make recommendations to the H.K. Government to improve the standard of safety of the Railway.

7.

In all communications between the parties hereto measurements and dimensions shall be on the metric scale.
