Thus, undoubtedly, this arrangement have great danger to motorists since Connaught Road Central will become a free way when the whole project is completed. Further, this will deter motorists from using of our Jubilee Street Jordan Road Vehicular ferry service. This service takes vehicles off the road system and plays an important role in reducing congestion in the busy Wanchai and Central Districts as well as the Harbour Tunnel. The proposed project would result in Surther road congestion.

Moreover, the vehicular/passenger ferry routes are the most popular and subsidize other loss making, but socially desirable ferry services. Any reduction in traffic will definitely lead to financial losses to our company and we reserve the right to claim compensation.

We zre still discussing with the concerned Government Departments for alternative arrangements. Unless there is a satisfactory solution, we

will not accept the proposed project.
