Dear Sir,

I refer to your notice concerning FWP Item no. 285TH proposing temporary closure of the section of Cleverly Street between Des Voeux Road Central and Connaught Road Central. If the works are to be undertaken, our watch company will be seriouly affected as it is situated within the proposed enclosed section. There will be deafening runhle of machiner and alouds of dust. Our merchandise will wear out more quickly because they are all metal made. Business will drop and we may even face possible winding-up. Apart from raising our objections against the works, we should like to claim compensations for the following :-

the decrease in business which directly leads to the decrease in income of our employees;

our losses in respect of payment of wages, water and electricity bills as well as rents; and

3. the loss resulting in accumulated unsold merchandise.

Besiue the above-mentioned material losses, there are also unexpected invisible losses which are difficult to estimate. In addition to claiming compensation, we reserve the right take legal action.
