Professor SHOU Peiyuan, vice-chairman of the 9.3 Society Central Committee, said the opposition of the people of Hongkong could be treated as a reminder that management of the nuclear power plant after it had been completed should be closely monitored.

For long-term development, the experte who had attended the seminar consider that Hongkong and mainland China should further communicate with each other as far as education and popularisation of scientific knowledge are concerned. The scientific sector could act ab the bridge to help people of all circles in Hongkong and members of the general public acquire a better understanding of nuclear power.
