reactor core coolant

emergency

system

would

start

up

in

succession, continously injecting

the water in their reserve

into the reactor's

tanks

primary loop,

ensuring that the core is inundated

and

cooled by

water.

The

containment building sprinkler pump

will also come into operation,

spraying water

inside

the

containment building, causing steam

in

the containment building to

condense and the pressure to drop.

The radioactive material (iodine-

131) will be absorbed by the water.

4. When all the water in the reserve

tanks has been used up, the safety

water

using sump

injection pump

water for recirculation and

will switch

to

00

injection into the reactor.

This will

guarantee that the coolant requirements

will be met over a long period of time.

The

pressure-resistant

containment

building remains sealed, preventing the

escape of radioactive materials.
