features of the pressurized water reactor. The Company considered that much of the information could be made public.

(3) Public Enquiry Centre : The GNPJVC would set up a public relations section to strengthen its public relations work So that the public would have a better understanding of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant. Details concerning the establishment of a public enquiry centre and other services would be studied and

decided by the PR section.

Safety Analysis Report and Environmental Impact Report : the National Nuclear Safety Administration of China had requested the GNPJVC to compile a safety analysis report for the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant. The format of the report would be

in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Nuclear

Regulatory Commission of the United States. The report would comprise 17 chapters looking into various aspects including the siting and structure of the plant. After the experience gained

from the TMI accident, a chapter on "Human Factors in Engineering" was added. A detailed safety analysis report would be compiled by EdF after the formal signing of the Daya Bay

Nuclear Plant contract. We were informed that the Ministry of Nuclear Industry of China would advise GNPJVC to make public the safety analysis report of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant in due

course.
