We have taken briefing action with the appropriate Political Department in the MFA on the basis of your telnos 169 171 to Canberra. They took note and could foresee no objection. The papers would be passed to the Technical Department. We had earlier spoken to that department on the basis of your earlier instructions and ourselves foresee no problem there either.

The Greeks were grateful (by implication) for being considered important enough to include in this briefing exercise.
