1. I submit a self-explanatory draft reply from Mr Renton to a letter of 11 February from Mr Lewis Carter-Jones MP to the Secretary of State. Mr Carter-Jones has just returned from a visit, via Hong Kong, to an international conference on Rehabilitation for the Handicapped in Peking.

2.

I understand that Mr Renton has already expressed willingness

to meet Mr Carter-Jones. The draft therefore offers an appointment.

3. We will provide a background brief on cooperation on

rehabilitation and related subjects once the appointment has been

arranged.
