1. The attached list provides an outline Chronology of major events in Sino-British relations from 1950 to 1985. It does not intend to be a comprehensive account of all developments; many more visits, for example, have taken place in both directions. It notes major exchanges and developments in order to give an indication of relations between the two countries at various stages over the last thirty five years. The list is for briefing purposes only, and is not intended to be, and should not be construed as, an indication of British Government policy.

Updatings and amendments may be issued from time to time.
