Leader of a local education delegation Cheng Kai-nan: Chinese officials have promised them HK's education system after 1997 will develop along the present track.
The BLCC sub-group on human rights agreed today to focus its discussion on six major areas. The first area is the definition of HK residents. The second area is human rights, including freedom of the press and speech, the right to travel, and the right of abode. The third area is SAR residents' obligation,
including conscription. The fourth area is the means to protect. residents' rights and obligations. The two other areas are the welfare system and labour laws.
