Dear

10 December 1985

I would like to thank you for your letter of 28 November 1985 in which you informed us of the nomination by the Government of the United Kingdom of Lieutenant-Commander Richard E. Just as a member of the team of experts for an assessment mission related to the Anti-Piracy Arrangement.

We are indeed most grateful that your Government was able to respond favourably to UNHCR's request in such a speedy manner and have the pleasure to confirm to you our acceptance of Lieutenant-Commander Just's nomination.

I believe we are very fortunate to have secured the services of such a highly qualified and experienced officer. We hope that the proposed mission schedule - 9 to 31 January 1986, inclusive of the period required for briefing and debriefing in Geneva - is convenient to Commander Just, as we do not anticipate any changes. We would also like to confirm that Commander Just's proposed travelling route is perfectly acceptable to us.

We are at this juncture still awaiting further nominations from the Governments of Japan and the United States, which we expect to receive very soon. As soon as the composition of the assessment team is established, I shall not fail to advise you of further details with respect to Commander Just's participation.

I should like to reiterate our sincere appreciation of your Government's interest and support in this important matter.

with bend ayanch

Yours sincerely,

Thile I
