The Crisis of Mass Exodus

Michaelmas Term 1985

Wednesdays, 5 p.m., Seminar Room

This series of seminars, co-sponsored by the British Refugee Council, is part of a continuing emphasis at Queen Elizabeth House on the involuntary movements of populations, an issue of relevance for the study of international relations, law, psychology, politics, economics, anthropology, sociology, and development issues. Though international in scope, several sessions this term are devoted to considering urgent question concerning the work of voluntary agencies and the implementation of UN standards of refugee protection in Britain. One aim of the seminars is to increase communication between the academic community and those who work in the field of refugee assistance.
