10. We attach importance to and particularly welcome

income-generating projects for refugees (see para 46 of

the Report (Ref A) ), who often have difficulty in

securing employment among the indigenous population.

We were among the first donors to contribute funds to

UNHCR's income-generating projects for Afghan refugees

in Pakistan, which we regard as an excellent

initiative.
