How many VRS has the UK taken in under the Orderly Departure Programme (ODP) during 1985? (273 refugees came to the UK under ODP between Jan-Oct 1985. A total of 2417 have come since 1979, and some 2000 more have
been promised entry.)
How many VRS has the UK taken in under RASRO ship rescue arrangements this year? (29 were admitted up to 30 September 1985. Figures for Oct-Dec not yet available.)

How exactly have admission criteria been relaxed as a result of SCORRI? (Under family reunion criteria introduced by the Home Office in July 1981, agreement is normally given to the entry of the spouse and minor children of a refugee already settled in the UK, but not of other relatives Exceptions are made but usually only in the most compelling compassionate circumstances. The Government has now decided that, for Vietnamese refugees, the criteria would exceptionally be relaxed so as to embrace spouses, parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren and siblings.
