Dear Richard,

UNHCR: RESETTLEMENT COSTS FOR INDO-CHINESE REFUGEES

1. I enclose copies of a self-explanatory letter from UNHCR together with its enclosures, which constitute UNHCR's Special Appeal for resettlement costs for Indo-Chinese refugees in East and South-East Asia.

2. We spoke about this appeal by telephone, with particular reference to correspondence between UNHCR's London office, the Home Office, ODA and UND on the specific case of the 500 refugees being resettled in the UK from Hong Kong, resting with Janette Wyeth's letter of 19 November to Mr Wells.

Your letter of

19 November (just received) also refers. As it has not yet been decided which Department will be responsible for refugee resettlement costs, you kindly agreed to accept the enclosed appeal for processing as appropriate.

Yours sincerely,

Delia.
