The Hong Kong Government have informed us that there are at
present 44 French speaking refugees in France, and 70 refugees with
close family ties in

these two categories overlap: Hong Kong are checking this with the
Hong Kong office of UNHCR, who maintain detailed records on each
refugee. They have asked UNHCR for a list of the names and personal
details of the refugees (Hong Kong telno 2434). At the request of
the French Consul General in Hong Kong, they are also obtaining a
list of unaccompanied minors in the camps, some of whom the French
might, it seems, be willing to consider accepting (Hong Kong
2459). The Embassy in Paris have suggested that details
refugees should be passed directly to the French Consulate General in Hong Kong (Paris telno 949). Hong Kong propose to do this.
