I understand that the Select Committee for Home Affairs has been somewhat critical of Britain's record regarding refugees from South Vietnam.

I am receiving letters from constituents based on what the newspapers have said about this report and also a BBC news programme last week, which highlighted the problem, particularly of those Boat People still incarcerated in Hong Kong.

I would be most grateful if you could let me know what reply we are offering to these critics
