PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES (JOINT LIAISON GROUP)

(b) in regulation 15 by inserting after "(Privileges and Immunities) Ordinance

1984" the following-

", Privileges and Immunities (Joint Liaison Group) Ordinance 1985”. (3) The Stamp Duty Ordinance is amended-

(a) in section 38 by inserting after the definition of “incorporated public officer"

the following definition-

"premises of the Chinese members of the Joint Liaison Group” means any premises in respect of which the Chief Secretary has issued a certificate under section 43(3)(a);";

(b) in section 43-

(i) by inserting after "Visa Office" where it occurs in subsections (1) and (2) the following-

", of the Chinese members of the Joint Liaison Group"; (ii) in subsection (3)(a) by inserting after sub-paragraph (ii) the following-

"(iii) in respect of premises which are exempt from taxation under the Privileges and Immunities (Joint Liaison Group) Ordinance 1985, that such premises are premises of the Chinese members of the Joint Liaison Group for the purposes of this Part; and";

(iii) in subsection (3)(b)(i) by deleting "and";

(iv) in subsection (3)(b)(ii) by deleting the full stop and substituting the following-

"; and";

(v) by inserting at the end the following—

"(iii) in respect of a person to whom the Privileges and Immunities (Joint Liaison Group) Ordinance 1985 applies, that such person is an exempted person for the purposes of this Part.".

(4) Section 4(3) of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel (Passage Tax) Ordinance 1984 is amended by inserting after "(Privileges and Immunities) Ordinance 1984" the following-

(18 of 1985.) ", Privileges and Immunities (Joint Liaison Group) Ordinance 1985".

1. In this Schedule, unless the context otherwise requires- "archives" includes papers, documents, correspondence, books, films, tapes and register, together with ciphers and codes, the card-indices and any article of furniture intended for their protection or safe keeping:

"premises of the Chinese members" means the buildings or parts of buildings and the land ancillary thereto, irrespective of ownership, used for the purposes of the Chinese members of the Joint Liaison Group and includes the residence, whether permanent or temporary, of any person to whom this Ordinance applies.

2. (1) The premises of the Chinese members shall be inviolable.

(2) No agent of the Government may enter any premises of the Chinese members without permission of the occupier thereof.
