Sing Pao: It is hoped that the six-member group convened by Dr Rayson Huang will not reject nominations by community groups.

The Financial Daily: It

is necessary to stipulate in the BLCC constitution the need to make public the meetings of the BLCC.

The HK Economic Journal: If media people were to join the BLCC, they would have to follow the rules and lose impartiality in their reporting and comments. They may also unconsciously become China's mouthpiece after having been received and lectured by Chinese leaders.

Legco Unofficial Selina Chow: Unofficials should be allowed to take part in the Basic Law consultation process in their private capacity.

S.Y. Wong of the Kowloon City concerned committee on Basic Law: The committee is satisfied with the amended constitution of the

BLCC.

Secretary of the labour unions' joint conference on Basic Law Lee Kai-ming: It will be enough to give only 35 seats on the Basic Law

consultative committee to the community groups and grassroots sector.

Spokesman for the political groups' joint conference on Basic Law Man Sai-cheong: The proposed number of BLCC seats falls far short of their expectation, as political groups alone hope to get 10 seats.
