Urbco member Howard Young: Discussion on the election of BLCC members

should focus on whether the nominees have sufficient time to take up the consultation work.

Wong Kwok-wah of the HK Journalists Association said the HKJA held a forum to discuss whether newsmen should send representatives to sit on the BLCC. The journalists are split on the issue with Mr Wong saying that working journalists should be given some of the seats set aside for the media sector while some other HKJA members said such a move may undermine newsmen's image of being independent.
