Tin Fung Yat Po: The paper hits out at a drafting committee member who has expressed doubts over democratic
consultation. It wonders whether he has any ulterior motive in
seats on the consultative committee. The draft constitution for the BLCC is generally acceptable except that it may not be appropriate for drafting members to sit on the
BLCC as well.
Association for Democracy in HK vice-chairman Pang Wah-keung: The BLCC should be independent. Its members should be chosen through democratic nominations and its total membership should not exceed 200.
Forthcoming Legco
election candidate H.K. Cheng: To ensure a smooth transition, development
of representative
goverment must be in line with the Basic Law.
