Sing Pao: The drafting committee has got off to a good start and success is expected. HK people should air their views on some problems related to HK's future to the consul tative committee.

Wan Chai DB member Vivien Chan: The spirit of the rule of law should be clearly stipulated in the Basic law.

Christian Industrial Committee and New HK Society: The eligibility for the membership of the Basic Law consultative committee should not be decided by the drafting committee. A joint body should be formed by the various Basic Law concerned groups and the consultative committee members should be elected from among joint body members.

HK Policy Viewers spokesman: The drafting committee members should brief consultative committee members on the progress of their work.
