WANG Hanbin Commented on the Basic Law for the IIKSAR, the Legal System of

China and the Personnel Changes When He Gave an Interview to the Chief

Editor of the Mirror

At 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on 14 June 1985, Mr WANG Hanbin, Secretary-

general of the NPC Standing Committee of China, Director of Committee for the

Legal System under the NPC Standing Committee and Vice-Chairman of Basic Law

Drafting Committee, commented on the Basic Law for the HKSAR, the legal system

of China and the personnel changes at the upper levels when he gave an interview

to Mr LAM Man, Chief editor of the Mirror, in Little Shandong Room, People's Great Hall, Beijing.

The other people present were:

(1) Mr GU Angran, Deputy Director of Committee for the Legal

System under the NPC Standing Committee;

(2) Madam WANG Zhuqian, Deputy Secretary-general of Committee

for the Legal System under the NPC Standing Committee;

(3) Mr ZHANG Xiaobu, Deputy Division Chief, Foreign Affairs

Bureau, General Office, the NPC Standing Committee;

(4) Mr YIN Zhongyan, Foreign Affairs Bureau, General Office,

the NPC Standing Committee;

(5) Mr JIANG Tao, Secretary of All-China Journalists Association

Secretariat and officer-in-charge of the Association's

Domestic Work Unit;

(6) Madam LEI Yuping, Organization Liaison Office, Domestic Work

Unit, All-China Journalists Association.

During the interview, Mr WANG Hanbin asked Mr LAM to give his

regards to Mr TSUI Sei-man, Director of the Mirror. He said, "Both Mr TSUI

and I are returned overseas Chinese from Burma, Being a leading figure among
