in Section 42(2)(b)(by virtue of which the oath of allegiance

on registration or naturalisation is not required to be taken in

certain cases), after the words "British subject," there shall be

inserted the words "a British national (Overseas), ";

(d)

in Section 50(1), after the definition of "association" there

shall be inserted the following definitions:-

"British National (Overseas)" means a person who is a British

National (Overseas) under the Hong Kong (British Nationality)

Order 1985, and "status of a British National (Overseas)"

shall be construed accordingly;

"British Overseas citizen" includes a British Overseas citizen

under the Hong Kong (British Nationality) Order 1985.

(e) in Section 51(3)(meaning of "citizen of United Kingdom and Colonies" in certain contexts), at the end of paragraph (a)(ii)

there shall be inserted the words "or who under the Hong Kong

(British Nationality) Order 1985 is a British National (Overseas) or

a British Overseas citizen" and at the end of paragraph (b) there

shall be inserted the words "nor a British National (Overseas)".

(8) The enactments specified in Schedule 1 to this Order shall1

have effect subject to the amendments there specified, being

amendments consequential on the provisions of this Order.
