SCHEDULE 1

CONNECTED

CIRCUMSTANCES CONNECTED WITH HONG KONG

Article 2

The following circumstances are to be regarded as connected

with Hong Kong in relation to the person concerned:-

(a)

birth in Hong Kong, or being found abandoned

(b)

there as a new-born infant;

adoption in Hong Kong;

naturalisation or registration in Hong Kong;

naturalisation or registration outside Hong Kong on

an application based on any of the following

[(i)

(ii)

(iii)

(iv)

residence wholly or mainly in Hong Kong;

service in Crown service wholly or mainly

under the government of Hong Kong;

descent in the male line from a person

who was born or naturalised in Hong Kong;

marriage to a person who is a British

Dependent Territories citizen by virtue

of circumstances connected with Hong Kong

or would have been so but for his death];

descent from a parent who at the time of the birth

of the person concerned was

(i)

(ii)

a British Dependent Territories citizen,

citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies

or (before 1st January 1949) British subject

by virtue of circumstances connected with

Hong Kong; or

a British Dependent Territories citizen

and was serving outside the dependent

territories in service
