As regards the tertiary sector, botn of our

universities nave a Department of Fine Arts providing

under-graduate training aimed, among other cnings, to

promote a general appreciation and understanding of the

visual acts and to provide knowledge of major trenus in

Che evolution or the visual arts in Joth cast and west.

Ine current enrolments are bo at the dong Kong

University and 71 at che Chinese University of Hong

-Kong. Graduaces are well placed to till

vocationally-oriented posts in arts administration,

curatorial work and seconuary school teaching.

To provide intending teachers with additional

training, the Chinese Jniversity of dong Kong also runs

a post-graduate training course for fine arts graduates.

The Hong Kong University through its extra-mural

Department nas, since September 1982, veen running

extra-mural post-graduate certificate courses in arts

administration for practising administrators in bota cae

public and private sectors.

Furthermore, the Hong Kong Polytechnic, carouga

ics Swire school of Design, orters a variety of courses
