Amendment of section 27.

3. Section 27(1) of the principal Ordinance is

amended by inserting after "person" the following

Explanatory Memorandum

The object of the Bill is to increase the

number of members of the Board of the Hong Kong

Industrial Estates Corporation who are not public

officers. At present, apart from the Chairman and

Chief Executive, there are 6 members, of whom 4 are

public officers. In future there will be 7 members,

of whom not more than 4 will be public officers.

2. The opportunity has been taken to make it

clear the Chief Executive may be a public officer.

3. The Bill has no material public expenditure

or Public Service staffing implications.
