PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO PEKING AND HONG KONG:

32

PRESS

Peking telegram No. 2723 sees no need for the Prime Minister to hold a press conference in Peking.

I accept that the main press event of the visit will be a press conference in Hong Kong and that a full-scale press conference in Peking is not necessary. But the Prime Minister will wish to set aside time to see the British media in Peking. I should be grateful if provision for this could be made in her programme.
