Rt. Hon. Sir Patrick Nairne, GCB, MC, MA,

Office of the Monitoring Team,

The Supreme Court,

38 Queensway,

Hong Kong.

Dear Sir Patrick,

Subject: The Future of Hong Kong

Thank you for your letter of 17th November. I am sorry you are unable to look at the SRH survey procedures, but certainly understand the pressure on you at this time and your commitment to the terms of reference given to you by the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.

We believe the SRH survey data represents a valuable contribution to the opinion gathered by the Assessment Office and no doubt you will, as Monitors to the Assessment exercise, satisfy yourselves that the findings of the SRH survey are properly and accurately reflected in the report of the Assessment Office.

I am copying this letter to your learned colleague the Honourable Mr. Justice Simon LI.

Yours sincerely,

Welding
