Chapter 4:

Conclusions

The views of Southern District residents on Hong Kong's future, as revealed by the poll, were generally similar to those expressed by residents who attended the seminars on the same subject earlier on. The poll's findings can be summarised as follows:

1. Generally speaking, Southern District residents have a high political awareness, as evidenced by the 90% return rate of a self-administered questionnaire.

2. Generally speaking, Southern District residents acknowledge China's sovereignty over Hong Kong, but do not agree that China should administer the territory lirectly.

Couthern District residents your ongkong people ruling Hong Kong, lemocratic elections and maintenance of the present lifestyle.
